Laminated flooring (Parquet stratifié)
mail   print
Laminate floors are made up of four different materials-layers bonded together under high pressure. Laminate floors are made of a moisture resistant layer (the bottom layer usually made of PVC) under a core of HDF (high density fiberboard). This is topped with a paper-print image of natural wood flooring. It is then finished with an extremely hard, clear coating made from special resin-coated cellulose to protect the laminate flooring.

Benefits and advantages

Laminate flooring is durable and attractive flooring with the appearance of a hardwood floor. No solid wood is used in its construction. Laminate floors do not stain, fade, dent and are more scratch and water resistant than hardwood floors. Depending on the resistance of the top resin layer, the flooring will be suited for light to heavy, residential to commercial use.
