The Wood species we use for outdoor decking are mainly Ipe and Merbau. They both offer similar characteristics in what relates to geometric transformation (no cupping, warping, etc...), insect resistance, durability, etc...
Wood decking can be installed on a solid sub-surface with minimal gap to let the water flow or can be raised from the sub-floor to allow a technical gap for pipes and similar related equipments. The wood decking planks will be installed on Joists (support beams) with hidden stainless steel fasteners.
Another easy to install method used for small private terraces are the modular deck tiles (average 45 x 45 cm) made of parallel small wood planks on a black PVC support.
